What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy uses the combination of the wonders of science (biochemistry and nutrition) with naturopathy (natural, drug-free medicine). It is designed to support the body as a whole and to treat the underlying symptoms rather than just suppressing them. When assessing health problems and working with an individual towards a tailored treatment plan, the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of the client are all taken into account.

You are probably aware of the wealth of information out there about different diets and what constitutes a healthy diet. It's information overload and it can all become a bit overwhelming and sometimes contradictory.

Nutritional therapy is all about personalised nutrition, so the real benefits of seeking help with a qualified practitioner are:

  • It cuts through the information overload out there and gets to what’s right for your body and your health using analysis of your signs and symptoms and where necessary functional laboratory tests.
  • It will create a programme that suits your lifestyle.
  • It will give you all the motivation, inspiration and practical support you need to activate the changes and live a nutritionally balanced life.

Nutritional Therapy can be helpful for:

  • Improving digestive health
  • Weight loss
  • Enhancing energy
  • Supporting the immune system
  • Detoxification support
  • Reducing inflammation
  • Balancing hormones
  • Calming the mind

   as well as

  • Improving athletic performance
  • Pregnancy and post natal support
  • Building a healthy appetite in children
  • Aiding the natural self-healing abilities of the body.

Expectations

Nutritional therapy isn't a magic, one-size fits-all solution. It can take some time for the body to respond and be brought back into balance (as well as a good dose of patience and compliance) however, you can expect to see some immediate improvements. We must remember that we are resolving the underlying issues involved so we recommend a minimum of two nutritional therapy sessions although we find that most clients require three or four

sessions (one inital and 2-3 follow up sessions).

A Complementary Therapy....

Nutritional therapy is not a replacement for medical advice. We would always recommend that you consult with your GP over any health concern. We have been and will continue to provide nutritional therapy along side conventional medical treatment, either to support treatment or to alleviate some of the side effects.
